About
Dr Sanjay Sinhal is certified by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and has more than two decades experience. Sanjay is a senior consultant in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Flinders Medical Centre and also consults privately at Flinders Private Hospital and Ashford Hospital.
Sanjay is a Lecturer in Paediatrics at Flinders University and has been an examiner for FRACP (paediatricians’ final examination) since 2010. He trains and mentors advanced trainee Paediatricians in FRACP training program. He has contributed to the design and development of the post graduate neonatal nursing course. He teaches medical students at the Flinders University.
Sanjay contributes to several Committees in SA Health and has contributed to South Australian Perinatal Practice Guidelines at Flinders Medical Centre. Including:
- Direction of the Neonatal Echocardiography Program for point of care echocardiography in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Flinders Medical Centre
- Clinical Guidelines and Protocols for Perinatal Practice Guideline for tongue tie, Neonatal Pulse Oximetry Screening program for early detection of Congenital Heart Diseases at Flinders Medical Centre
- Liaison with Maternal Fetal Medicine department and counselling of parents for antenatal diagnosis of fetal dysmorphology
- SALHN New Interventions And Procedures Committee
- State Perinatal Mortality Committee / FMC Perinatal Mortality Committee
- FMC Equipment and IT Committee
Sanjay loves working closely with families and tailors his care according to individual wishes and circumstances. As a father of two lovely children, he understands his pivotal role in children’s care at a critical stage of their life.
In his spare time, Sanjay enjoys playing Cricket, Table Tennis and Chess. Sanjay comes from a family of 16 doctors – he is the only Paediatrician amongst them.
